Serving with Compassion. Walking with Hope.
At the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul London, our outreach efforts are rooted in compassion and human dignity. Every day, we respond to real needs with practical support, providing food, clothing, housing, and a listening ear. We serve individuals and families facing economic hardship through direct, personal contact that respects each person's story and struggle.
Our programs are local, volunteer-driven, and delivered through parish-based Conferences across the London region. From home visits and thrift store vouchers to advocacy and systemic support, we are committed to walking alongside our neighbours in times of need and offering hope with every encounter.
Support when you need it most.
Whether you are facing a temporary crisis or navigating long-term hardship, we are here to help. Our support programs are designed to offer practical, immediate relief, including food, household items, clothing, and compassionate conversation through home visits. No referral or formal application is required, just reach out.
Support is delivered through local parish-based Conferences made up of dedicated volunteers. We treat every request with dignity, confidentiality, and care. You’re not alone, we’re here to listen and to help however we can.
Home visits are at the heart of our outreach work. Rather than expecting people to come to us, our volunteers visit individuals and families in their homes, listening, learning, and responding to their needs with personalized care. This approach builds trust and restores dignity during times of difficulty.
Through this face-to-face model, we can provide support that goes beyond material needs, offering comfort, encouragement, and practical resources in a way that’s personal and respectful. These visits are the foundation of our mission to serve Christ in those who suffer.
SSVP London bears witness to our Christian faith through the solicitude and care of those who lack adequate clothing and furniture. We act as an intermediary between people who wish to donate and those in need. We provide food, furniture, and clothing assistance to those in need in our community. If you are in need of food, furniture, or clothing vouchers, please contact the local Catholic Church that services your area. View the map below.
Please leave a voicemail with a contact number, and a volunteer will return your call. Two of our volunteers will set up a time to visit you to review your needs and provide you with a voucher. If you receive a phone call from an “Unknown Number,” please answer the call. After you receive your voucher from the volunteer, please call the 585 York St. store at (519)438-7071 to set up an appointment at the store. Our wonderful store volunteers will help fill your needs.
While we respond to immediate needs, we also recognize the importance of addressing the root causes of poverty. SSVP London is committed to advocacy, speaking up for affordable housing, livable income, food security, and compassionate systems that serve all people fairly.
We partner with local, provincial, and national organizations to push for systemic change that reflects our values of social justice, inclusion, and dignity for all. Advocacy is how we carry our mission beyond charity, into the work of lasting transformation.
