St. Vincent’s on Huron - 1500 Huron St, London

We are embarking on an exciting and much needed project. SSVP London has obtained a portion of property from the Diocese of London adjacent to St. Andrew the Apostle Church located in northeast London. The location is ideal with easy access to shopping, schools, transit and a community Centre. We are developing a 73-unit apartment building designed to provide safe, stable housing for individuals and families in need. The building will feature a mix of one and two-bedroom units, with 17 units fully accessible to accommodate residents with mobility challenges.

More than just a place to live, the building will serve as a community for support and connection. The ground floor will include dedicated space for community services, allowing for programs and resources such as wellness programs, and community gatherings all within the the comfort of their own building. This project reflects our commitment to providing not just housing, but a home and a sense of community.

“Affordable” means monthly rental costs are below market rates. This project targets those with limited income who face high housing costs and a shrinking supply of long‑term affordable units.

St Vincent’s on Huron is under construction and we hope to be complete at the beginning of 2027. Please see our newsletters for the latest information.

We aim to serve those with the greatest need for safe, affordable homes. In London, this includes senior women, newcomers, and the working poor. The building will offer one and two‑bedroom units, including 17 fully accessible units.

No. The project is open to anyone regardless of religion. SSVP is a charitable organization supporting people facing financial hardship and poverty, without religious restriction.

Applicants must meet financial criteria. Applications will be assessed with city partners, with the final eligibility review handled by a property manager.

The project aims to provide stable, supportive housing. No mental‑health or addiction services are included as part of the affordable housing initiative.

Construction began in the spring of 2025 and we anticipate tenant occupancy at the beginning of 2027.

Arnsby Property Management will serve as the property manager.

The projected cost to build the new building is approximately $27 million. $2.25 million from the City of London and $5.15 million from Federal Government, $17.9 million mortgage from CMHC and $1.7M in donations and grants.

Funding includes contributions from all three levels of government, donations from individuals, corporations, service groups, foundations, and faith organizations, as well as a mortgage repaid through tenant income.

Our goal is to raise $5 million over five years, with $1.7M target for the first building. Please see the campaign section for progress.
